Southeast Edmonton Community Voice

For approximately 30 years, the Southeast Voice was a trusted source of local news and information delivered throughout Southeast Edmonton. Following the retirement of longtime publisher Hugh Calder at the end of 2025, publication paused while community leaders determined the best path forward, but it was clear that the newspaper had been missed. Martinson Publications has now been selected to continue providing this valuable community service now to roughly 21,000 homes.

Over the next year we plan to publish 10 issues of the Southeast Edmonton Community Voice, the first of which coming in August of 2026. As we prepare, we are connecting with local businesses and individuals that serve Southeast Edmonton residents who may be interested to advertise with us. We believe community newspapers continue to offer a unique opportunity for businesses to connect directly with local households and build awareness within their target market.

Variety of options

*Prices are before GST and options are always subject to availability at the time.

Widespread reach

The Southeast Edmonton Community Voice Newspaper will be mailed to approximately 19,000 homes in Southeast Edmonton at the beginning of each month.

In addition to sharing valuable community news with locals, we have the opportunity to share about other services in the area that may be of interest to them as well.

*Note that 10 issues will be published annually, and the off-months will continue as September and January.

Trusted source

Hugh Calder started the Southeast Voice 30 years ago, and the newspaper became a local treasure that the community grew to trust and missed receiving when he retired at the end of 2025.

With the backing of SECLA, Martinson Publications desires to build on Calder’s legacy in continuing this service for the community. This includes sharing advertisements from businesses, organizations, and individuals that are also serving those in Southeast Edmonton.
